The Association ‘Cinemas for Africa’ was at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival at the ‘Les Cinémas du Monde’ Pavilion. Thanks to its current partners, the association was displayed prominently for the festival. Inside the "Salon des Ambassadeurs" and on the Plage des Palmes, a kakemono (vertical banner) introduced the association's project and a seat symbolized it. Two interviews of Abderrahmane Sissako have been shot and brodcast on the Cannes Film Festival's official website, for these interviews, he explained association's goals. Monday 17th May, a fundraising diner, organised by the Festival, brought together about 70 professionals and gave rise to introduction of "Cinemas for Africa". Its president Abderrahmane Sissako and its vice-president Juliette Binoche (who got the Interprétation Féminine's prize few days later) were there.
